Fishing Reports October 2006 - Jacksonville
 am a novice Kayak fisherman who fishes often. Here you will find my personal fishing report. Hopefully it will provide you with an idea of where to go. Sometimes it's where not to go. I fish mostly in places a motorboat can't reach using artificials 99.9% of the time. Click on pictures for enlargement!
9-14 Where Little Clapboard Creek
When Fished the last of the outgoing and first of the incoming tide.
Caught 9 Trout all 9" to 14", large rat Red
Bait DOA Cal on a 1/8 oz Jig head, Heddon Surer Spook Jr.

Where I put in at Bert Maxwell ramp and headed East to the first creek on left. The last 1/2 mile had many Reds with their tails and backs out of the water. Some looked to be over slot size. I only had the opportunity to cast to one fish & it hit and spit the DOA Cal. BTW I was in Trout River because I wanted a trout!

Caught Finally caught one 15" trout under a dock on Trout River. Not a very productive few hours. But it's another new spot tried.

Where Mill Cove - The wind kicked up and it was the end of the sight fishing. I mostly paddled around exploring with an occasional blind cast at a likely spot without any luck.

Caught rat Red, a small keeper trout, lots of little Ladyfish and a needle fish,

Caught 5 trout 16"-18.5", 1 dink, and a 15" Rat

When Fished the last hour of the outgoing and the first 2 hours of the incoming.
Caught 9 Reds from 15"-24" the big ones were caught sight fishing and 18ish dink Trout from 10" - 15"
This guy was almost lunch once before. The dent in him is a mouth imprint from a previous encounter with a large Red?
Bait DOA CAls for Reds and both CAls and the Super Spook Jr. for Trout.

Caught 4 Reds 9 dinks and a sleigh ride with a 20ish " Jack Nice clear water.
